Headed East...

My mom and I had a fun day yesterday when we made a trip into the city. Mommy's friend, Vicky, has a son that is 4-months old, Emmett, and we went to their house for a play date. It was my first play date with a boy and also the first time I left the suburbs since Emmett lives in Gladstone Park. But before I get to the play date, I have to tell you about the stop we made before that-to my mommy's work!

We decided since we were headed east, we would stop by the Bradford Group where my mommy works as a Media Buyer. I know a lot about her job because I used to go with her everyday when I was in her tummy so I was already familiar with all the sounds while I was there! My mommy got to visit with her co-workers and catch up on the happenings with them. She misses talking to them but I am good company during the day as well. We walked around the department and everyone commented on how tiny I am. I slept while we were there so as not to disturb anyone, they all seem so busy there! We took some pictures of me in front of a cubicle and then of me and my mommy in the garden. I never knew there was a garden in my mommy's workplace!

After we left Bradford, we went to see Vicky and Emmett. Vicky's sister, Ali, was also there-she is a very good aunt! Emmett is older than me so he can do a lot more than I can right now, but one day we will be able to play together and have a great time. We did do some tummy time together and had lots of fun. We both were pooped afterwards and took naps. Emmett has lots of fun toys to play with-I can't wait to go back! Mommy took lots of pictures while we were there!

Fun with Friends

On Thursdays, my mommy and I attend a New Moms class at the hospital by our house. My my cousin, Evalina, also is in the class with my Aunt Marcy and her friend Rachel and Rachel's daughter, Sarah. We have been going for 2 weeks to this class and usually I have just slept while we were there and have missed all the fun. But this week, I was awake and had fun stretching and playing on the floor with the other babies. I even practiced some tummy time. Here's a picture of Evalina, Sarah and I having fun.

Then on Friday, my mommy's friend, Adam, had a party for his 30th birthday -it was actually a surprise party! I slept through the surprise, though! Anyway, my mommy has known Adam and his family for many years so it was nice to meet all his siblings, his parents and his wife, Jill. He even has a son that is 4 months old, Ethan. One day we will play baseball together just like Adam and his brothers and my Uncle Ricky. They were teammates in little league all the way through high school!

My mommy's friends were also at the party so I got to meet Jamie for the first time! She just got married so it was nice to see her and her new husband, Scott. We missed the wedding because I was just born a few days before the big day!

Also, on Friday, it was my parents five year anniversary! I can't believe they were married that long before I came along! I wonder what kinds of things they did before they had to take care of me!

Having Fun at Home

When I was first born, my mommy and daddy tell me I was so sleepy all the time! I took lots of naps! Now, I am more alert and have time to do fun things-like play with my new activity mat! My parents thought this would be fun for me! So far, I like to look around at all the fun colors but as I get bigger, I can't wait to grab all the fun toys-there is even a monkey on it that lights up!

I will continue to update you as I figure this thing out!!!

A Busy Weekend

I had a very busy weekend and it was lots of fun too!! On Friday night, my mommy got a call from her friend Pam. She had just received my birth announcement in the mail and thought I was so cute, that her and her husband, Craig, wanted to visit me right away! They came over while I was taking a nap, but when I woke up, Pam fed me my bottle and promised she would spoil me! Her and Craig even bought me some Cubs shirts for me to wear when I get a little bigger.
My parents have told me about the Cubs and I have even watched some games with them on TV. I am going to be a big Cubs fan one day, just like my Uncle Ricky.

Speaking of the Cubs, on Saturday, my dad went to the Cubs game! They were playing the Cardinals--my mommy told me that is the worst team. Since my dad went to the game with his friend Zac, my mommy and I decided it would be a good time to visit my Grandma and Grandpa Saviano in Niles. I had never been to Niles before so I was very excited to go to their house. My Great -grandma Kitty was also there! My mommy and grandma and I went for a walk.
We walked to the park and on the way back we stopped by my mommy's other friend, Crystal Miller's, house. Crystal's parents were home too so I got to meet them as well. They all thought I was cute!

When we got back to my grandma and grandpa's house, we hung out for a little more before we headed back to C-ville. Here is a picture of me and Kaya, Uncle Ricky's dog that lives with my grandparents!

After such a busy couple of days, I was pretty tired on Sunday! I slept most of the day and my parents were able to run some errands with me while I napped. We went to Costco, which is my daddy's favorite store...
Then we went to Target, which is my mommy's favorite store!
We even went for a walk later with my brother, Guinness. Then we came home and slept!
Hope you enjoyed hearing about my weekend! Talk to you soon!

Welcome to Mason's Blog!

Mason Benjamin was born three weeks ago, on July 28, 2011 @ 9:07 pm. He came into our life as a 5lb 15oz, 18in little bundle of joy. The time has already gone fast and the more we talk to those who are already parents, we are always reminded to enjoy this phase before it passes. This being said, we have moved our Mason Benjamin 365 photo album from Facebook to this blog so Andrea can help keep the pictures and happenings of our little man more up to date.

Here is a link to Mason's Facebook photo album.

Please check back here often to get updates on Mason and our family.
